Book review of The Call of the Wild

this is a novel writed by my best friend, who’s english name is Mathida J. It is one of my favourate novels, I know it.
Jack Londonwas born in Pennsylvania, His whole life is a hard life. He was live in a poor family and was gained a little of education in his childhood. But he always maintained his love of books. During his short life ,He did a lot of vocation --- tourist,editor , writer. he was caught up in the gold rush to the Klondike river in north-west Canada which became the inspiration for his story. His stories successfully reflect the contradictory views of man’s nature and destiny in and against the wild, and his \"fight to survive\" notion has gained him and his works timeless popularity, particularly, the Call of the Wild . Jack London was one of the most widely read writers in the world.
In the leading role is a dog, named Buck. In california,Buck had the suitable life,had many favourate food and many friends.There ,Buck was the strong dog,the important dog. He walked with children, stayed with his master beside the fire in the cold winter.
But this was 1897,Buck did not know that men and dog were carrying to north-west Canada to look for gold.Men need strong dog like Buck to the north-west Canada. So Buck was brought to the north stealthily.There,he learn how to pulling the sledge in the snow day by day.Also he learned to steal food for his hungry body and to break ice for drinking.The important thing was that he learned how to fight agaist with his enemies .With the great success on pulling the sledge, Buck become one of famous pulling dog in the north. But the north is a wolves usually coming to the people’s eyes,where wolves howl to the moon.The call of wild in the Buck’s mind ,become loudly and loudly...
When I first started to read The Call of The Wild, I thought the book was boaring. After reading several chapters I began to enjoy the story. I felt that Jack London gave a powerful messege to let you know that you should never be content in life because you never know when thing may change. This was shown by Buck who had a very good life living with Judge Miller. After he was stolen and sold several times he found himself in a cold, mean, harsh world. He had to learn how to adjust to a different way of life.
So Jack London wants to bring us into the ruthless wild from the stable and desperate city. There, I merely cannot deny the attraction of Buck’s bark, which makes me to pursue another lost half of the nature in mankind, and to find a true meaning of life. Can we presume that London intentionally makes Buck to set us a example with perfect characters? The answer is clear .Our human , as animals, are from the wild but lost more and more wild signs, which we call it \"uncivilized\". However, who can fully guarantee that we have not missed some essential virtues based on the wild instinct ? Especially, nowadays, it seems more important for us to stop wander in the untruely prosperous world and to consider for a while. When cheats, betrayals, lies and crimes stuff a materialized society, whether London uses this novel to help himself to escape the reality or warrn to us, modern man. It appears awful that in modern society many people are crazily talking about how to build up \" relations\" to the authority and millionaire , deceiving and lying to each other . Oh, what is the essence of human beings? What is the civilization to us? Do we need to look back at where we came from? Are we wasting talents given by the mighty nature? Be an honest , goodhearted, emotional and responsible man or be a cold hearted hypocrite? While trying to be \"civilized\", we are losing those good virtues, which are the calls of the wild. Once we lose them, we lose ourselves really. I wish this awful thought is my false , but, now, it is clear right . One day when I happily stand on the top of a grand mountain to observe a beautiful forests, a morning sun sprinkles me her warmth and brilliance in a graceful way. at that moment, I am afraid that I cannot appreciate these beauties, I am afraid I am a lost \"civilized man\". Please, please do not let come true while we are still able to answer \"the call of the wild\".
Except the insperation and viewpoint struck reader deeply, there are lots of details attract us . I collect some wonderful sentence of The call of the wild：
He learnt to eat any foot; he learnt to break the ice on water holes with his feet when he wanted to drink. He was stronger, harder, and could see and smell better than ever before. The days passed very happily, and for the first time, Buck learned to love, he had never loved a man before. Buck was, without question, very fine animal—bright-eyed,intelligent,his tick coat shining with health,And he looked as strong as a horse. Buck was suddenly filled with a wild,burning anger. Buck come out of the trees faster than the north wind,and threw himself on the Yeehats like a mad dog. He also heard something calling him into the forest.There’ll never be another dog like him .the call of the wild was loud in Buck’s ears Buck ran with them ,side by side.
