3.Research Aim and Questions
Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common primary malignant tumor of the liver in childhood. Multi-drug chemotherapy and surgery are the main treatment methods for HB. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to individual chemotherapy guided by tumor chemosensitive assay in vitro. So, the long term goal of this study is to provide patients with individualized precision medicine, while the current goal is to analyze the results of tumor chemosensitive assay in vitro using statistical methods, so as to provide some judge bases for clinical workers.
The research aim of this project is to predict responsiveness to chemotherapy for Hepatoblastoma by statistical inference on the vitro trials of patient-derived tumor organoids, for realize it, there are some detailed questions need to be solved at first:
1.Propose some innovative statistical inference methods for statistics data of small sample, particularly applied to the field of tumor chemosensitive assay in vitro of rare diseases.
2.Determine the number of optimal experimental groups for this tumor chemo- sensitive assay in vitro, that is, how many concentration points should be set in the dosing group of parallel test.
3.Classify patients according to their sensitivity to the drug (cell inhibition rate), that is, to obtain an appropriate classification criteria at the preclinical stage.
4.Infer the combined effect of multiple drugs by combining the analysis results of a single drug.
