Sopor Aeternus，德语，意为永恒沉睡或死亡沉睡，又指那些徘徊在地狱大门外，没接引收留的孤魂野鬼。他们的肉身早已腐烂，灵魂却没有归宿，只能在无人的夜晚游荡在墓地，唱那些哀伤的歌。他们被称为阴影演出者（the Ensemble of Shedows）。

这首是Sopor Aeternus的一首名为The Skeletal Garden的歌。
讲述：在幽暗的花园里，老者孤坐其中。美丽的花园，万木丛生其间。老者因为有了花园而不再孤独。花园因为有了老者而生机蓬勃，突然有一天…… 老者逝去……不是因为寂寞……花园毁去 却是因为美丽。愚蠢的人类，愚蠢的嫉妒……
大部分的时候我自己都认为哥特音乐是一个黑洞，把人完整的吸进这个黑暗无底的洞中，席卷和抽调脑子中所有的思想，下意识的释放出内心深处压抑着的东西。
这首《The Skeletal Garden》中我最喜欢的是这一句：“et, none of them could keep the dead birds from singing ……（然而，他们没有人能阻止唱死鸟）”
